Church & Dwight Completes Bathroom Product Brands Buys
by Rebecca Phillips — Dow Jones Business News

PRINCETON, N.J. — Church & Dwight Co. Inc. (CHD) completed the acquisitions of the Clean Shower brand from Clean Shower L.P. and of the Scrub Free and Delicare brands from Benckiser Consumer Products Inc.

As reported in October, the acquisitions totaled about $55 million when Church & Dwight signed definitive agreements. The Clean Shower and Scrub Free brands have combined sales of about $50 million a year.

A Church & Dwight spokesman said the Delicare brand generates "relatively small" annual revenue.

In a press release Thursday, the company said the acquisitions bring it into the retail bathroom cleaner market.

Church & Dwight, with 1998 revenue of $684.4 million, makes Arm & Hammer brand household products.

Benckiser Consumer Products is a unit of Benckiser N.V. (BNV), a Dutch household products company.
